about

Hey there, I’m Quinn.

I’m the founder of Unearthed Pleasures. I’ve spent the past 10 years teaching folks like you how to tap into your desires and encourage your authentic exploration! Through kink education, community folk-knowledge, sex science, a dash of witchy woo, and my own holistic approach to sensuality & kink, I’m super excited to show you your unique path.

Desires? Exploration? Witchy science? What???

It may sound like a hodgepodge of approaches, but my goal is to take you deeper into your desires. I want you to feel validated in what you want to learn about, I want to help you make a plan to pursue new pleasures. Most of all, I want you to find all the places within yourself waiting to be explored, and build beautiful connections to explore them with safety, confidence, and delight! If you learn about the concepts and principles here, you’ll be ready to take your steps to exhilarating, indulgent sensuality. All while liberating yourself from “normal” standards of intimacy and empowering yourself to experience passion on your terms. We’ll dive into the basics of kink like negotiation, communication, types of play, and safety… And we’ll wade even further into your own why’s for the play you want, the depths of thought around different kink topics, philosophies of submission, and much much more. And perhaps most of all, we’ll acknowledge and celebrate your unique journey in kink, and all the questions and excitement and experiences therein.

What's my journey in all this?

My journey to kink education is rooted holistically, bridging my kink and “vanilla” communities, refusing to hold back pieces of myself from lovers and friends alike. My background in research and education showed me early on that there was a lack of academic approaches to kink, both examining it and teaching it. While the kink community itself consistently passes down knowledge through oral history, conferences, workshops, and more. Sharing my experiences and what I’ve learned from this community lineage became a passion. I can’t give a list of lettered credentials that make me qualified for this field (and trust me, my Masters degree program did not know this was the type of education I was pursuing!). But what I can give is my whole self, the one that started her own kink path 15 years ago, who keeps making the journey every day, and never stops asking questions and exploring deeper. What can we learn about ourselves if we look in the shadows as well as the light? What can we share with others if we’re honest about our desires? How can we combine the exhilaration of education with the delight of sensuality?

what people are saying

“Quinn is an exceptional educator with a thorough and nuanced knowledge of kink. Having known nothing of kink prior to our meeting, Quinn has helped me to gain a deep, complex knowledge of kink and kink practitioners, and has inspired me to be a staunch ally to the community. She is able to take concepts and practices that can be intimidating to the uninitiated, and makes them approachable, interesting, and fun. As a masters degree holding educator, Quinn is able to ground and communicate her knowledge of kink in ways that are easily understood by any audience. Whether you’re completely new to the scene, a practicing novice, or a seasoned kinkster, Quinn can help deepen and develop your knowledge of your own kinks and kink in general.”

“I'm so glad I met Quinn when I did. I was just dipping a toe into the world of kink and she was an absolutely invaluable guide to my experiences! We had many long discussions about the specifics of what EXACTLY I liked about the things I was finding myself drawn to. She helped me focus in on the emotion behind the experiences while at the same time introducing me to new ideas and possibilities. She also made me feel really safe and supported to explore. I knew I could ask her any question that came to my mind.

One of the coolest ways Quinn thinks about kink is how to use it as a tool to learn more about ourselves. For example, she's a master at crafting a kink experience to help you lean into something that's happening in your every day life. Connecting a scene to the rest of your life, identifying what's going on, and playing with that in a controlled, safe way. This is part of what I see as so uniquely Quinn - I've never had other kink teachers connect things to the rest of my life like that.”

“Quinn makes sex & kink fun, accessible, and practical. She's someone that can make the most stigmatized thoughts, desires, and scenarios seem like just another topic, perfectly appropriate for afternoon conversation over coffee. She has a unique ability to bring humor and lightheartedness into the darkest areas of conversation. And she knows where to get any sex or kink-related supply you could think up in your wildest dreams and strangest moments. She is an invaluable resource.”

values & guiding principles

  1. Kink (& sex, & sensuality) is best when it’s holistic.

  2. Boundaries, expectations, & knowledge should serve us, not shame us.

  3. Consent means conversation. We can’t consent without information, communication, & self-exploration.

  4. Unpacking our desires & pleasure philosophies is an act of reclamation & empowerment.

  5. Admitting mistakes & being vulnerable is crucial for navigating kink.

  6. Exploring kink will have laughter, tears, shadow work, heart-singing, connection, loneliness, be hard work, come naturally, etc. We don’t explore kink because it’s simple or easy, but because it let’s us tap into something deeper in ourselves & others.
